Andrew
Clover

Andrew Clover is a writer / performer / coach.
Last year, his plan was to sail the Atlantic, to find ruined rainforest
to rewild. The reality: he nearly drowned, he got lost in the jungle,
but found his way to The Lost City of the Kogis, and to a moment that
changed his life from pessimism and purposelessness, to connection
and calm.
How? It was all to do with trees.
It inspired A Wild Call - which got rave reviews at Edinburgh. (Andrew was included in The Scotsman's Highlights of Thirty Years of the Fringe). It started a burgeoning business, as a sort of druidic coach. (Clients walk in the woods with Andrew, explaining the trouble; he says, 'What do you think you could do?'; then he leads a guided meditation, inviting a specific tree to help shed light. It's surprisingly effective: his first client, under the oak, conceived a new business, which only a matter of weeks later, was promised its first hundred million in investment). You can get a sense of how it might work from these 7 minutes of audio pleasure
Andrew is launching an app called TreeCalm - https://treecalm.passion.io/ - which uses breathwork and tree-inspired meditations, bringing users focus & peace & a better night's sleep. It opened last week for a trial group, and all the spots filled in the first day.
Andrew's just written a book based on all this, called Ten Tree Spells. This autumn, he'll be touring to London, Brighton, Yorkshire and Cornwall, doing live 60 minute shows of To Cast A Tree Spell. (It's partly a talk, partly a huge act of witchcraft. The audience get to choose which tree - from an oak, a willow, a yew, and an ash - will be used as the basis of the tree spell, which will be done at the end, with the angelic singing of Sarah Lambert-Gates - aka, the luscious, the divine, Daughter of the Waters).
While touring, he'll also be meeting musicians to
collaborate on guided meditations, and to make a podcast called My
Favourite Tree. Just recorded the first with Mike Keats of the Cuban
Brothers. (Sorry. There's no link for that yet). E-mail directly to mrcloverthefamoussnail@gmail.com if you are interested in hearing
meditations, or if you fancy making a luscious musical bed for one, or
if you fancy appearing on the podcast.
In the past, Andrew's been known for...
Acting. He was the clown in Ashes to Ashes; Bart in Gimme,
Gimme,Gimme; and in the original cast of Shopping and
F**king at the National Theatre and Royal Court which he helped shape through improvisation.
He's presented various shows - especially Storyman on Radio 4 ('Best radio for ages',
The Radio Times).
Writing....
Rory Branagan (Detective) - voted Best Children's Book in the
Waverton Awards. Click here to visit Rory's Facebook's page.

Andrew's just finished Dogbeard, The Dog That Fought Pirates - based on a true story, told to him by Paula Mata when they were sailing the Atlantic together. Being a Perrier Nominated comedian, Andrew is a popular act for spreading Literacy-based fun in Schools, where he normally performs his riotous /inspiring Seven Secrets of Storytelling show. But in the spring, Andrew will be offering four free performances of Dogbeard - a comical story which poses the question, What Happens if Everything Has Gone Very, Very Bad (and your only friend is a dog)? Get in touch, if you're a school that fancy this storytelling treat. Or for the normal show, and its workshops (eg Three Top Tips For Getting Writing Down). BTW Andrew has one slot left for Book Week 2026 (so move fast if you're interested).
Dad Rules, a column on the back page of Sunday Times Style; also a book published by Penguin - which spent 2 months as Number One on Amazon's New Humour section. ('I love love loved it, a wild and irreverent adventure'***** The News of the World).
Other services he sometimes likes to do? Andrew has often written speeches, or done performance coaching - eg working on 5 Ted-Ex talks for clients such as Michelle Thew - Cruelty Free International. A former BBC editor for comedy, he enjoys helping others polish up their books / scripts. He lives on a boat at Tolhurst Organic, where he is (Deputy) Educational Outreach Officer - meaning he shows kids round, and makes them hunt worms.
